When starting a service-based business, especially coaching and consulting, there is a tendency to keep things under the radar so that you won’t make any mistakes in front of a big audience.
The problem is, that in order to compete in today’s marketplace you need to stand out and get noticed. Perhaps you have a feeling that you’re not quite ready or that things are perfect enough yet.
But here’s the secret: you will never feel completely “ready” and things will never be perfect. Sooner or later you will just have to bite the bullet, dive in, and get yourself out there.
There will always be improvements to be made and “course correction” is an important part of growing a business. But you can’t course correct if you’re standing still.
The world needs what you have to offer, but it’s not going to wait for you. It is more important that you start sharing your gifts and talents than having the best website or every piece of your business figured out.
Remember why you started your business in the first place. Get in touch with the excitement you have around helping others. Don’t focus on being ready or good enough, instead visualize the people out there who need you. When you put your mind on being of service, a lot of your fear will disappear.
