If You Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail

It’s very common for new entrepreneurs to have a business plan in our heads rather than on paper or to not have a business plan at all!

But if you want to want to grow a lucrative, thriving business, you must have a plan.

Don’t worry though, we’re not talking about a 300-page tome used in huge companies or Silicon Valley startups as a prospectus for investors. What we’re really talking about is a roadmap of goals and action steps to create the life and business of your dreams.

Some people are nervous about setting goals. How do I decide on what goals to set? What if I don’t reach my goal?

But a goal is just a dream with a deadline and a plan. A goal is both a target to shoot for and a measure of your progress. Studies have shown that those who write down their goals, accomplish significantly more of them than those who don’t.

So… what are your dreams?

Here are just some of the goals you might want to have written down for business:

  • Number of new clients you want to attract each month
  • Amount of money you want to bring in broken down by month
  • New products/services/marketing you want to implement in the next 6 months to a year
  • A Marketing Plan including a Marketing Calendar showing both when and how you are going to achieve your money and success goals

Be sure to add the specific tactical steps you plan to implement for each goal that will ensure you achieve your dreams!

Oh and remember…It’s also extremely beneficial to have personal goals such as: self care, family fun, and vacations!

Here’s a simple business success formula that is tried and true:

Vision + Goals + Action Steps = SUCCESS
